meet mrs. norman...
I have enjoyed teaching art for 11 years and counting!
My love of art and teaching has grown since I was a child. Prior to starting my teaching career in Central California, I graduated with a degree in Art and Education from the University of California, Berkeley . When my husband decided on graduate school at he University of Idaho, we were pleased to find such a vibrant art community in Moscow. Since moving here, I've had the great pleasure of teaching at Moscow Wild@Art, Lincoln Middle School in Pullman, Washington State University and currently at Moscow Middle School.
Teaching art in this community has been exciting and rewarding. I've had the opportunity to work with both University of Idaho and Washington State University and many wonderful local artists. In 2012 I proudly received my National Board Teaching Certificate. In 2014 was honored to receive the Idaho Middle Level Association Teacher of the Year for Region Two. Presently, my search for excellence in art education has brought me to Harvard, where I am continuing my education with a Master's in Art Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. I strive to give my students a comprehensive, and quality art education.
My time out of the classroom is spent with my family, my husband and 8 year old. We enjoy reading, walks and cooking together. I try to keep up with my own art-making, inspired by my family, friends and students.
